'Our inspiration is in stimulating people's potential'

The Valley Outdoor Centre or 'The Valley' is an umbrella company. As caretakers of Parikarangaranga (Valley of Echoing Cliffs) it manages 'The Valley' products. E.g.  Historical Education, Environmental Education, Ropes Course etc. Our underlying philosophy is to help people realise and reach their potential within an outdoor setting.

Tauranga Ropes Course

The Ropes Course is a community facility run by the 'Tauranga Community Challenge Ropes Course Trust' comprising of eight trustees, all with a focus of helping youth and the greater community. All profits are reinvested back into the community.

Parikarangaranga Echoing Cliffs

Tall cliffs define the Valley of Parikarangaranga Valley of Echoing Cliffs. The Valley echoes the voices of past and present people, it echoes the nature and the river that winds through it. This 57-hectare bush clad Valley is BREATH TAKING!!

Facilitators

The Valley Outdoor Centre has a dynamic team of highly skilled and diverse facilitators, all passionate about giving people a fun, quality Outdoor Learning Experience. The Valley facilitators create a physically and emotionally safe environment, thus allowing participants to step safely outside their comfort zone. We strategically plan days that have a timely sequence, step by step we build participants up to the next level.

Our aim is to be non-intrusive. We brief the activity and safety practices then take on an observational role. At the end of each activity we lead discussion, (de-brief) allowing participants to draw out their own learning.
